![]() "When the grass comes up and the new growth appears, and the mountain greens are gathered in ..." - Proverbs 27:25 Can you see them? The tiny sprouts of the daffodils are poking through already. How refreshing to see the first signs of Spring. New growth. New hope. New life. Excitement is building as much wealth is already visible in these small little shoots. How I would love to bottle this enthusiasm and expectation. For when the dark days come, it is hard to rally these feelings. So take the opportunity now to peer at these sights and soak up all of the glorious creation taking shape! It's coming! Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of new growth, new hope, and new life. As we await Your coming, like the unfolding of the daffodils, may we rejoice in Your creation day by day. ![]() February 18, 2017 - 69 degrees - warmest temperature ever for this day in Cleveland OH. Records: there are a bunch of them. Most number of home runs by a player in baseball. Fastest time for running 100m. Longest distance flown by a paper airplane. In fact, Guinness has a whole book of records. Maybe we should set our own records. Here's a few we could strive for:
"Do you not know that the runners in the stadium all run in the race, but only one wins the prize? Run so as to win." - 1 Corinthians 9:24 We all want to run the race to the ultimate finish. We might as well set a few records along the way. Ready! Set! Let's start! Are you in?
![]() What were they thinking? Did they run it through a consumer test? It seems like a good idea. Tissues in a plastic wrapper instead of a cardboard box. But the more you use them, the lighter "the box" becomes. If you don't hold "the box" with one hand while pulling out a tissue, "the box" flips across the room. It was a bad experiment. "For I am the LORD, your God, who grasp your right hand; It is I who say to you, Do not fear, I will help you." - Isaiah 41:13 I sometimes wonder if I am a "bad experiment" for all the times I try and fail. Yet each time I fail, God puts his hand on me, holds me tight, and steadies me on my way. Dear Lord, encourage me in my trials, console me when I fail. Thank you for always being near to place your steady hand on me. Amen. |
