He noticed his wedding ring was missing. He never takes it off, but it was no longer on his left hand. He has become so accustomed to it, almost taking it for granted, that he doesn't know the last time he saw it. He searched everywhere, indoors and outdoors. Drains were checked to see if it "would fit" down the drain. Garbage cans were turned upside down. So easily taken for granted, and now such panic. It may be just a symbol, but it seems like a relic. Finally, the ring was found. Sitting undisturbed in the place where it was left. "... he will never fail you or forsake you." - Deuteronomy 31:6 How often do we become lost? Searching everywhere for a God that we think has abandoned us. But He is there, always there, waiting for us. Thank you God. |
